Jonny and Chris shared a flat at 268 Camden Road in London, which is where the first Coldplay rehearsal took place. Camden itself was the epicentre of indie-music-cool and this address was within walking distance. This flat was also once home to Bernie Rhodes, manager of The Clash.

Chris and Jonny lived in the flat for two years (as well as longtime band friend Tim Crompton of The High Wire). Proximity to Camden Town was a huge plus, as were downstairs neighbours sympathetic to the arts…

The photo of Chris and Jonny may or may not record the actual moment when it dawned on Mr. Buckland that being the guitarist in Coldplay meant a lifetime at inescapably close quarters with Chris Martin… 🙂
