Jonny goes jazz

One of the most troubling episodes in the history of Coldplay

01 Dec 2001

Jonny goes jazz
By Jonny "Jazz" Buckland

Filmed at the John Henry’s rehearsal rooms in North London, this shows the band on fine form whilst working on Rush of Blood To The Head. Notable for his absence from this piece is Mr Guy Berryman. That would be due to the fact that he is the man behind the camera, having recently picked up a video camera on tour before developing his full blown optical obsessions on Viva. Given that this was made four years before YouTube uploaded its first video – when the vast majority of internet users still only had a dialup connection – we’re not entirely sure what was done with it at the time. Perhaps it was just to keep spirits up in the studio.

Thankfully, since this video, Mr. Buckland has made a full recovery with only minor relapses into skiffle around the time Brian Eno came onto the scene.
