I first listened to Coldplay in a music theory class in middle school, where we learned about the controversy regarding the song "Viva La Vida," and I instantly wanted to hear more. I eventually bought my first album of theirs, which shared the same name as the song I'd heard long before. Then, I put it in, listened to each song, and found myself enthralled not by "Viva La Vida," but by "Yes."
