The déjà vu is strong as we roll into the MetLife Stadium to kick off this North American leg of the tour. The band were, of course, here for a couple of nights last year, making “has it really been a whole year?” the phrase of the day.
Chris echoes this thought as he intros Everglow on the B-Stage. He mentions that he’s been trying to think of fresh things to say and has opted simply to repeat exactly what he said last year. He goes on to muse at what a year 2106’s been and expresses his hopes that the election goes the right way…
Elsewhere in the show, there’s a narrowly averted wardrobe malfunction as Charlie Brown gets stopped to allow Chris to pull up his trousers.
The C-stage sees Mr Champion’s birthday celebrated with balloons and best wishes. (“It’s still his birthday somewhere in the world…”)
The C-stage concludes with a moving and heartfelt tribute to Chester Bennington, before the final three tunes bring our first show back to a close.
