Fresh back from an exhausting North American trip (which itself followed a hectic Australian jaunt), the band arrived for their first Brit Awards. The band won Best British Group and made mention of being surrounded by their heroes. Later in the evening, they received Best British Album for Parachutes. Beating Radiohead, who were nominated with Kid A.
