This show saw the band heading up to Scotland, to play at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend event in Glasgow. With tens of thousands of competition winners in attendance, this was by far the biggest crowd to witness a Ghost Stories show – indeed, it was the only outdoor gig of the era. So, naturally it rained.
Not that spirits were dampened. As the climax of a rapturously-received show, this was the night when A Sky Full Of Stars truly came of age, sending the crowd into a euphoric frenzy, while millions watched and listened live around the world.
It’s fair to say the band had a good night too…
Thank you Glasgow, thank you @BBCR1. What an incredible crowd #herewefuckinggo. Love guy, jonny, will and chris
