2000_05_01_001These days, of course, both Coldplay and Muse are known for their mastery of the stadium spectacular. Some time before this, though, they were cramming onto shared stages in venues holding around 1,000 people.

The bands remain good friends and, indeed, Chris claims at least one song on Rush of Blood was inspired by how embarrassed he was of his inferior piano skills when he showed Matt Bellamy some of the songs in progress.

These days, getting both bands onto the cramped stage at Sheffield Leadmill would be something of a challenge. It’d be one hell of a night though.

It probably was then, too…
