The band play at Jimmy Kimmel's first show - with Snoop watching

This was the first ever episode of Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show. It got thrown into the schedule at hilariously short notice when the band previously booked dropped out. It required some pretty nifty footwork to get things in place between regular touring shows – definitely my first memory of the crew getting their own private jet to and from a show…

Coldplay’s section of the broadcast was shot outside on Hollywood Boulevard, with the street closed off for the entire day, with stage-right nestled underneath a traffic light! The following day was Superbowl day, so the whole country was already getting into the party spirit when showtime came around.

It’s not known whether they managed to impress Snoop. It’s a fairly safe bet that he was less nervous of what they thought of him.
