Chris has told the story before of he and Jonny having a summer job cleaning filthy student flats and them making it more bearable by listening to Ricky Gervais’s show on XFM.

Remaining a fan of people and their work as you rise through the ranks must be tricky sometimes, one would guess. Becoming friends with them when you still love what they do must be one of the great rewards of it all, though.

This guest appearance on Ricky’s Extras show was later repaid when Chris pleaded for Ricky to get his David Brent character to reform his band Foregone Conclusion for the Under 1 Roof fundraiser show for Kids Company at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in 2013.
